new art and cards

In the midst of the dust, I have still been able to work a fair bit. I am trying soooo hard to change my color palette, but I always end up with the same tones. I am a rather slow and impatient worker so just getting to the point where I feel the piece has all of the elements it needs usually suffices. This piece is available here.

I am back to using one of my favorite materials, gold foil. I like the elegance it gives to the pieces without overdoing it. What do you think? This piece is available on etsy.

I am also offering blank cards of some of my newest artwork. You can pick up a pack on etsy as well.

Realized that I hadn't had anything on ebay for awhile so added a few 4" pieces there as well. Happy weekend!

Memories from Venice

Oh how I hate to spend time on the computer naming pictures! In the midst of going through my vacation files, I thought I would post a few glimpses from Venice. What a magical place!

Enjoying the first morning of my vacation without kids! (Oh, and can you believe that the guy that took our together picture at San Mark's cut off our feet? pooh! That REALLY bugs me!)

home repair

A couple posts back, I shared with you my fantastic week of relaxation and luxury. I did not share with you what had happened a week before that has resulted in stress, chaos and massive plumes of dust which will eventually end with two new floors and a ceiling. We finally arrived home last night after being away for a month. This is the view of my living room.

While we were in Denmark, Stavanger was hit with some major storms. This resulted in water leaking in through our third story bedroom which in turn leaked through the ceiling and down into the living room. This is the current state of my bedroom:

Would love to get into the studio to finish some projects and package up some art but right now my work space looks like this:

Things could always be worse, right?

Pedlars

You didn't know that you needed a nodding, pink poodle, did you?
Or a dancing robot?

I have a weakness for recycled objects and am ordering these fantastic planters for outside.

Isn't this stuff cool? Go order a catalog from Pedlars in the UK. They have so many unique things that would most certainly add smiles to your life! (Oh, and I think I will be getting a pink poodle too!)

Back!

The last time I left you I was heading out for our family vacation and a week of "alone time" with hubby. Well, plans changed and two days before getting on a plane, we found out that we were going yachting instead! Yes, a week on a Seadream cruise along the coast of Croatia.
We stayed one night in Venice and then boarded the ship for a week of luxury.

We boarded the ship and were met with champagne before exploring our room and finding more chilled champagne, fresh fruit and flowers, and monogrammed pajamas.

Before dinner we relaxed on large sunbeds taking in a breathtaking view of the Adriatic. Little did we know that the next 6 days would be 4 course meals, cocktails, countless bottles of wine and champagne and exotic fresh fruit in our room. Ahhhh, luxury. I decided that I like this! More later...
